Returns
It is our goal to bring you the absolute best organic and wild-harvested gourmet products. If you find that a product you order fails to meet your expectations or is defective in any way, you may return the item to us for a full refund of the purchase price. All returns must be received within 30 days of the purchase date. Contact us by email or telephone to arrange for your return shipment.
Sales Tax
By law we are obligated to collect 6% state sales tax on all orders shipped within the state of Michigan. We do not charge sales tax on orders shipped outside of Michigan, however your state may require you to pay a "Use Tax" on out-of-state orders. Check with your local tax authority for more information.
Security
We take the security of our customers' information very seriously, and we use every method possible to make sure that your online shopping experience is a safe one.
For all online transactions, we use an encrypted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection certified by GeoTrust between your computer and our server. This guarantees that all of your personal information is protected while it's being sent over the internet. Our online credit card transactions are processed by Authorize.Net, a company with a proven reputation for security and reliability.
All the information that is stored on our server is password-protected and/or encrypted. We do not store your credit card number online or anywhere else. Our system forwards this information to Authorize.Net for processing, and we record only the type of card and the last four digits in case you later have a question about your order. This means that in the unlikely event that our server is hacked, your credit card number would never be at risk.
We review all of our online orders carefully. If any order appears to be fraudulent or erroneous, or if we have any questions, an actual human being will immediately contact you by phone or email to verify your order personally.
Privacy
The personal information that we collect on our website will not be sold or traded to anyone else. We will use it only to fulfill and track your order and for our accounting purposes. Any email that we send to you will be clearly identified as coming from Food For Thought, and we will never send you spam email.
If you choose to receive our eNewsletter or any other optional email, we will send you only what you've asked to receive, and we will always provide instructions for unsubscribing with every email we send. If for whatever reason you have trouble unsubscribing from a list, please feel free to contact us and we'll make sure that you are removed. We hate spam as much as you do, and we would never want to send you unsolicited or undesired email.
Cookies and JavaScript
In order for our website to work properly, you must view it with a relatively modern web browser and allow it to write cookies and run JavaScript.
Cookies are small files created by your browser on your hard drive that can temporarily store information that you provide for later use by the website that created it. Our site, like most eCommerce websites, uses cookies to keep track of your order before it is sent to us via a secure connection. These cookies do not identify you personally; they are just necessary to keep your basket contents separate from those of other people.
As a convenience, our checkout form also gives you the option to store your billing and shipping address information in a cookie so that it is filled in automatically the next time that you visit our site. We do not store any of your credit card information this way, and any personal information that you elect to save in a cookie file is sent to us only via a secure connection the next time that you place an order.
JavaScript is a computer programming language that allows your web browser to do things that it couldn't accomplish with simple HTML. Our site uses JavaScript for many things, including creating our drop-down menus, improving our checkout process, etc. None of these scripts is a security risk for your computer, and they are all designed to make our site easier-to-use and more functional.
