The ultimate garnish for fish or any wild game dish. Harvested from the forest on our organic farm, wild leeks are an abundant and rich gift from the land. As I always say, "A poor day of mushroom hunting can always be a fine of leek harvesting." There's never a reason to leave the woods empty handed in May and June if you live in northwest Michigan. This spring tradition yields may stories form my elders including boys getting sent home during the depression because they'd eat leeks on their way to school and the odor was overwhelming. Farmers would also have to be cautious to keep their cattle out of the woods too, lest that same powerful flavor taint the milk. Brats, garnish a fish or any wild game dish.
