Production Manager


Position Summary:
This hands-on position requires a motivated individual to lead and manage production in our organic certified production facility. Our small organic artisanal Northern Michigan Company is seeking an organized, proactive, structured individual who is efficient, analytical and will build a strong culture. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to effectively create systems and processes to increase employee/manufacturing efficiencies. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the capability to grow into higher positions in the company.

Principal Responsibilities:
Lead the production value stream including pre-production scheduling, readiness, staffing, staging, production and storage.
Prepare operational schedules and coordinates pre-production and manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
Ensures food storage, transport and manufacturing meets or exceeds all regulatory, organic and other certification and food safety standards
Able to motivate team members to achieve plan goals
Aggressively leads problem solving to achieve improvement in Key Performance Indicators
Organize and facilitate team meetings
Staffing, training and maintaining the manufacturing staff
Working with the Team, develops or revises standard operational and working practices

Able to effectively develop or improve standard operational and working practices.
Mechanical and operational aptitude
Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with ability to improve and promote quality and safety.
Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
Strong Food Safety Knowledge (AIB, HACCP, FDA, etc.)
Good skills with Microsoft Office products
Building a strong Team and culture

Required Experience:
3+ years working in a Production Management capacity in a food manufacturing facility is preferred
College Degree Preferred but will consider Food Manufacturing Experience
Strong production and food manufacturing experience preferably with liquid bottling experience
Demonstrated job stability and a record of success managing a production team
Proven track record of problem solving and continuous improvement (Lean Implementation)
